I have three system layers: CRM -> payment system -> accounting. Between the second and third, there is a middleware app. That is the one we are building the automation around.
But first, I need to understand why it does not always do its job.
Today alone: five hours staring at the data export. Every order. Every payment. Every record created or not created. Asking myself the same questions on loop:
No correlation.
Not even a hint of a pattern.
The failures look random, and maybe they are. But I hope not.
I thought about treasure hunters.
There is a philosophy there: every hole dug without a chest is not a failure. It is a narrowing of the search zone. Every “no” gets you closer to “yes”.
And even if I eventually confirm it is random, that is a “yes” too.
Answer found.
But today is still a “no”.
Which means tomorrow the space of possibilities is a little smaller.
And that is already something.
Something to be grateful for, right? 🫠

AI sped up a messy integration debug, but it also showed how easily a model can mistake correlation for cause.
